Here are 9 events to expect when you make the decision to build!
1. The Excitement!
When you say yes to building your dream home, you are making one of the biggest and best decision of your life! This decision comes with a rush of emotions. There are now endless possibilities you can choose from to customize your house. There is lighting to be picked, paint colors, appliances and granite to choose…the list goes on! Just remember that when you decide to build with Cannon Custom Homes, we will come with you to help you choose.
2. Breaking Ground
Breaking ground is so exciting! It is when the reality of “this is really happening” sets in! Excavation begins, and the site is prepared for the footings and the slab. Next, the forms are placed and the plumbing and all other under-slab lines are installed, including post tension cables. Once all inspections are complete, the slab is poured.
3. Framing
Your 2D dream is now becoming a 3D reality! This comes with another wave of excitement as you can now begin to get a real picture of what your home will look like. Don’t forget to take pictures along the way and share them with family and friends!
4. Wiring
Next comes the installation of wires, pipes, ductwork, central heating and air, and plumbing to your home! Keep in mind that we can place outlets wherever will be the most convenient for you! If you want a timer for your curling iron, we can do that! These details are truly what make building a custom home ideal to your every day needs.
5. Sheetrock Installation
The walls are going up! After inspections on plumbing, framing, mechanical and electrical are finished, the interior and exterior walls begin to go up. Finishes on the exterior walls such as stucco or brick are also being completed.
6. Interior Finishes
Now comes the really fun part. We are now installing the flooring, the cabinetry, and all the other items that you have chosen earlier in the process! Your home is now beginning to resemble your personality and taste.
7. Installing Fixtures
After floors and cabinetry have been installed, we now dive into adding the tiny touches that set your home above the rest. These will include mirrors, cabinet pulls, bath hardware and more! Your custom home is really pulling together and looking more and more like YOU!
8. Final Inspection and Walk Through
Take a deep breath, your dream is a reality. Months of labor, decision making, and choosing colors has come to a close. Once the building code inspector gives final approval on your home, you are now ready for the final walk through! We will walk you through your new home and show you all of the features and how to care and maintain your home.
9. Your New Home and New Life
